Before our stretch limos are delivered, our mechanics work through an extensive checklist for repairs needed - this checklist was created, based on our experience of rebuilding over 50 stretch limos over the past two years.
We are Experts
We have a huge inventory of replacement parts, including engines and transmissions, so this is where we begin our checklist, and then we follow a set sequence of steps. Of course we often find needed repairs along the way.
Body Work
- Rust under stretch part (pretty usual for older vehicles - we plastic and repaint)
- Headlights and corner markers
- Lower rust - below stretch panels
- Windshield for cracks
- Rear lights (usually find a cracked lens)
- Roof condition
- Hub caps
- Sunroof for leaks
- Tires
- Wheels
Front End
- Ties Rods - inner and outer
- Stabilizer link
- Ball joints - upper and lower on both sides
- All front end bushings - uppers and lowers - every single one! (prevents rattles)
- Front brakes - pads, lines, calipers, rotors, master cyclinder
Typical Repairs Needed

Typical Engine Repairs
- Valve cover gaskets
- Muffler - entire length (usually we need to repair - this could cost you up to $450!)
- Smoking could indicate valves or gaskets that need to be replaced)
- Oil on the engine
- UV joints (if bad, limo will vibrate)
- Hanger bushings on drive shaft (same limo will vibrate at low speeds and smooth out at 50)
- EGR valve
- Idle speed control
- Throttle body clean out - we do it on every car
- Tension pulleys - all of them
- Water pump leaks and belt
- All belts for tightness and wear and tear
- Transmission fluids and their color - for slipping or slow in changing gears (if the transmission fluid is a blackish color it indicates a problem that needs to be addressed)
